Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
