The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
The first season presents a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
